Job Summary And Qualifications
Under the guidance of the supervisor and/or manager, the Operating Room Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patients and obtaining all necessary information to ensure accuracy in the surgical inpatient and surgical day case schedule. The position will require frequent contact with the physician office staff regarding patient medical testing and special equipment. You will serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and department outcomes.

Job Summary And Qualifications

What you will do in this role:
- You will schedule patients for surgical services obtaining accurate information.
- You will ensure that diagnosis is listed on each patient and when applicable, that diagnosis meets criteria as outlined in department guidelines.
- You will verify and write surgical services cases on flat board for the following day’s cases and rearrange cases on the grid as necessary.
- You will communicate and collaborate with physicians and their offices, as well as surgical services staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Computer proficiency, preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
