The Production Baker plays a vital role in the daily operations of Dolce Bakery, responsible for preparing, mixing, baking, and cleaning in accordance with bakery standards. This position supports the full range of our baked goods and operates independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high levels of quality and consistency.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare, mix, and bake all recipes, including but not limited to:
Cake batters and cakes
Cookie doughs and cookies
Scone doughs and scones
Custards, curds, fillings, and tortes
Icings and frostings
Yeasted and laminated doughs
Accurately scale ingredients and follow recipes to ensure consistency and quality
Receive, check, and properly store inventory and ingredients
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace, including pantry, fridge, and freezer
Perform routine and deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and surfaces
Assist with deliveries and unloading supplies as needed
Support and train other team members when assigned
Uphold food safety and sanitation standards at all times
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of fundamental baking techniques including scaling, mixing, proofing, and baking
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, recipes, and food safety protocols
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Capable of working efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
1–3 years of experience in a professional bakery or high-volume kitchen preferred
Physical Requirements
Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required
Regular exposure to heat, humidity, and kitchen equipment
Must be able to immerse hands in water for cleaning tasks
