General Summary:
Manage all aspects of the electronic payment acceptance function of the Company. This role requires an intense focus on minimizing costs and a solid understanding of the retail payments landscape. Responsible for Company’s short-term forecast to support liquidity planning, areas of potential working capital improvement, variance analysis, and preparation of board materials.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial modeling, accounting, forecasting and budgeting of electronic customer payments. Identify and implement cost saving techniques or initiatives, including managing and monitoring accuracy of routing decisions by processor.
- Responsible for identifying and assisting Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer on payment cost strategies and extensive and complex analytical support for multi-year strategic payment network contract negotiations.
- Provide integral support to Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer in all capital markets activity
- Manage the short-term cash forecast used as the basis for investment decisions, commercial paper borrowing strategy and near-term capital allocation decisions.
- Other financial analysis or Treasury projects as needed, including lease vs. own analysis and payment term analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Highly skilled in financial analysis with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data for a variety of business audiences
- Solid knowledge of payments regulations, landscape and best practices
- Strong managerial, planning, organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, analytical, and lateral thinking skills
- Ability to understand, communicate and advise upon finance strategies
- Specific knowledge of modeling and forecasting techniques
- Specific knowledge of accounting principles, EFT and cash flow
- Ability to interpret contract language
- Highly collaborative, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the banking industry
- Advanced Excel skills
Work Experience &/or Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Accounting or other related field of study. Master’s degree a plus
- Six plus years work experience in Treasury or related area
- One to three working with payment economics preferred
- Prior management experience preferred
