Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Assist with the administration of the income and franchise tax function; including the preparation of tax filings, tax payments, financial accounting, as well as, other tax related special projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of the income tax provision workpapers
- Assist in the preparation of the federal and multi state income tax workpapers and tax forms
- Prepare quarterly income and franchise tax estimated payments
- Assist in the analytics and maintenance of the tax depreciation calculations
- Assist management with federal and state income/franchise tax audits
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of tax compliance software
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence sent to taxing authorities.
- Perform monthly tax account reconciliations
- Maintain corporate tax records in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist in the preparation of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance documentation
- Stay abreast of current tax law changes and increase tax knowledge through continuing education and training
- BA or BS degree is required
- 2-5yrs Corporate Tax experience or equivalent public accounting experience or a Masters in a related field
- Technical Research Skills
- Strong PC skills including MS Office
- Good interpersonal and communication skills – both written & verbal
- Good problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- CPA candidate desired
- Experience in preparing Federal and state corporate tax returns
- Experience with tax compliance software desired
