Domestic Violence Project, Inc. is seeking a full-time Family Support Specialist to provide emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their families. Provides group facilitation and individualized service through coaching, coordination of care, referrals, and follow up.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Duties include:

  • Facilitate support group sessions for adults and children in emergency shelter
  • Deliver comprehensive case management services to participants in shelter and ongoing through in-home visits
  • Model life skills, parent education, financial literacy, and promote hope and empowerment
  • Provide coaching for individual program participants; develop strategies to reduce self-stigma; assist in development of goals and objectives; monitor and discuss progress
  • Document activities accurately and timely as required by DVPI and its funders
  • Report unusual activity and incidents following established chain of command
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with internal partners, local mental health agencies, child protective services, child counseling agencies, court systems, local community support and outreach groups
  • Participate in case reviews and contribute to overall program evaluation, improvements, and planning

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
