Job Duties 

  • Present educational domestic violence programs to target groups within service area.   
  • Provide domestic violence trainings to area systems and agencies.   
  • Develop, market and provide prevention/education programs to schools, youth, community groups, special needs groups, and other target groups as approved.   
  • Engage students and youth in violence prevention and encourage and assist them with youth-led violence prevention education projects amongst their peers.   
  • Market and provide domestic violence-related trainings to area agencies, systems, and businesses.   
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain good working relationships with other community agencies/organizations, connecting those entities with the appropriate DVSSP site.     
  • Work with other agencies/organizations to increase domestic violence awareness and prevention efforts.   
  • Attend meetings/trainings relative to position as assigned.   
  • Contribute to agency newsletter.   
  • Participate in Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities.  
  • Maintain statistics and complete reporting of activities as directed.   
  • Support and assist other agency sites as needed.   
  • Supervise volunteers to assist with workload as needed.   
  • Maintain facility, staff, volunteer, and client confidentiality at all times.

Required Skills, Abilities, Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Translatable work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide on-going supervision, training, and professional development
  • Collaborate with peers and other departments within the agency
  • Working knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient computer, Internet, and email skills


Preferred Skills, Abilities, Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • MSW/MA/BS/BA Degree or equivalent work experience

 

Clearances, Licenses, and Physical Requirements

  • Final determination of suitability for employment will be contingent upon a successful:
    • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint processed in accordance with Public Law 92-522 and the Child Protective Services Law (Title 23, Pa C.S. Chapter 63), Federal Criminal History Background Check.
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.
    • PA State Police Report of Criminal History Clearance.
    • Reference Check
  • Possess current PA driver’s license, insurance, and reliable vehicle
