Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Steel Detailer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing detailed steel fabrication drawings, conducting quality control of fabricated components, and ensuring alignment with project specifications. This role requires a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility. Additionally, when workload permits, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to design projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Detailed Drawings:

• Prepare and review detailed shop drawings for steel structures, including beams, columns, miscellaneous steel components, masonry, fiberglass and general construction.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and project specifications.

Quality Control:

• Conduct thorough quality control inspections of fabricated pieces to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to address any discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the in-house shop team to facilitate communication and streamline the fabrication process.

Revisions and Modifications:

• Review and incorporate changes from the technical and construction departments into existing drawings.
• Maintain accurate records of revisions and updates to ensure project integrity.

Design Project Involvement:

• Contribute to design projects when the steel detailing workload permits.

Software Proficiency:

• Utilize advanced detailing software (e.g., Autodesk Advance Steel, Tekla, or similar) to create and modify drawings efficiently.
• Stay updated on new technologies and software tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• 5 to 10 years of experience in steel detailing, with a strong understanding of structural steel design and fabrication processes.
• Proficiency in detailing software (AutoCAD, Tekla, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards related to steel fabrication and erection.
• Review and incorporate changes from the technical and construction departments into existing drawings.
• Maintain accurate records of revisions and updates to ensure project integrity.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
