POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the routine upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the building, grounds, and related systems. This role ensures the facility remains clean, safe, functional, and in good working order through preventative measures and responsive maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will take a hands-on approach to maintaining the physical integrity of the workplace, performing work across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and HVAC systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to building fixtures, such as lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains
- Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and prevent deterioration
- Conduct minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs as needed
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems and related components
- Perform janitorial duties including cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking restrooms and locker rooms
- Clean and maintain interior areas including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Clean all indoor windows and remove debris from outside areas and grounds
- Use ladders and other tools for elevated or hard-to-reach maintenance tasks
- Respond promptly to facility repair requests and emergencies
- Assist with moving or lifting heavy items, equipment, or furniture
- Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of facility or general maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs regularly
- Ability to operate crane and forklift (certification preferred)
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and preventative maintenance routines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions, including confined spaces and at heights
