Moorhead Construction, Inc. is a well-established utility contractor in Upstate SC with 50 years experience. We install water and sewer lines as well as pump and booster stations. We currently have 70 million dollars of contract in hand and quoting work all over the upstate daily.
Job description
Overview:
A Utility Superintendent at Moorhead Construction is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities of a construction site, according to project plans, specifications, schedules, and direction from the General Superintendent. Their duties include but are not limited to planning / executing the daily and weekly workflow, coordinating with subcontractors, directing the project crew, performing quality and safety checks and communicating all progress and conflicts to project management.
General Responsibilities
-Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
-Complete projects with attention to budgets for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs
-Coordinate with project management to determine budget and timeline
-Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with Moorhead field operations, vendors and suppliers
-Create schedules for workers and subcontractors
-Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, progress, all meetings, and track weather
-Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
-Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
Duties
-Maintain construction site operations and cleanliness
-Responsible use of materials, tools, equipment and other resources
-Direct and lead all construction activities
-Lead and manage the construction crew
-Provide frequent and timely schedule and progress updates to project management
-Duties are performed outdoors and are often weather dependent
Required Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
-Heavy Machine Operation Competence

-Basic electrical trouble shooting

-SC Driver’s License / Insurability

-Trench Safety Competence
-Maintain an acceptable criminal background
-Grading and site work
-Use of pipe lasers, levels and transoms
-Site layout to grade
-Map reading
-High School Diploma or GED
-Experience in water and waste water
-Any other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $1,400.00-1,800.00 per week
