Current Position Available

- 1 Full-time Infant Teacher (This shift is 4 10's, Monday-Thursday 8am-5:30pm must also be flexible with the shift and some Friday's).
- 1 Full-time 3, 4, & 5-year-old teacher (This is a fulltime up to 40 hours per week)
Job Requirements

- Provide basic care and caregiving activities
- Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing, etc.) to enhance children’s abilities
- Evaluate children’s performance to ensure they are on the right learning track
- Maintain constant communication with parents and update them on their children’s progress using the BrightWheel app
- Observe children’s interactions and promote a spirit of harmony
- Identify behavioral issues and determine the appropriate course of action
- Collaborate with colleagues
- Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations as established by official sources
- Each staff member is required by the state and NECPA to complete 30 hours of annual training, which resets every year in April
- Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic are required
- CPR/First Aid In-person certification is required. If you do not have CPR/First Aid you have 30 days from the date of hire to become certified. We, on occasion, host a class at the center on a Saturday morning for convenience. you may provide your receipt within 30 days of hire for certification reimbursement (reimbursement restrictions may apply).
Preferred Skills
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience as a childcare/daycare teacher
- Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
- Methodical and creative
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Degree in early childhood education

As required by Utah State law, all employees must obtain their childcare licensing clearance prior to their first day of work. This includes submitting a background check and fingerprints to childcare licensing. The total state clearance fee is $53.25, eligible for reimbursement after 3 months of employment. Payroll deduction arrangements are available if you need assistance covering this fee before you are eligible for reimbursement.
The Utah State University Care About Childcare office offers excellent support and training to help new teachers get up to speed and excel in their new positions. We also have a great mentoring program to help new teachers succeed.
