Position Summary:
DOTCOM is seeking an experienced Aerial Supervisor to oversee aerial construction crews working on coax and fiber telecommunications projects. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring safety compliance, monitoring production, and delivering high-quality work that meets DOTCOM and Charter Communications standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise multiple aerial construction crews performing coax, fiber, strand, and hardware installations
- Plan daily workflow, assign tasks, and track production goals
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and customer specifications
- Conduct job site inspections, safety meetings, and equipment checks
- Read and interpret aerial construction prints, maps, and job packets
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, utility companies, and clients
- Troubleshoot field issues, identify hazards, and resolve construction challenges
- Train and mentor aerial linemen, apprentices, and crew leads
- Maintain accurate documentation, daily logs, and as-built updates
- Ensure all DOTCOM vehicles, tools, and equipment are used and maintained properly
Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of aerial telecommunications construction experience required
- 1–2 years of supervisory or crew lead experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of coax and fiber aerial construction, strand/lash systems, pole transfers, and make-ready
- Ability to read and interpret construction prints and utility maps
- Proficiency in safe operation of bucket trucks, lashers, and aerial tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus)
- Ability to work at heights and in various outdoor conditions
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
