What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Centered Employment (FCE) Mobility Coach position at Douglas-Cherokee Economic Authority, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Family Centered Employment (FCE) Manager, the Mobility Coach is responsible for providing one-on-one coaching and mentoring to program participants, focusing on economic stability and self-sufficiency. Utilizing the EMPATH Economic Mobility Mentoring model, the coach will help participants set and achieve goals across five critical pillars: family stability, well-being, education and training, financial management, and employment and career pathways.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify participants’ strengths, needs, and goals.
- Create personalized plans developments, advocacy, service coordination, follow-up, and performance reporting.
- Provide one-on-one individualized coaching sessions (4-6 hours per month) per parent to help participants work towards their EMPATH goals, with a minimum of 20 hours per month.
- Coordinate with Head Start Family Services Advocates and Community Services Program Community Services Advocates to connect participants with wraparound support services such as childcare, transportation, housing, healthcare, mental health services, and other needs.
- Facilitate monthly parent committee meetings and activities.
- Provides follow-up services after job or education placement.
- Maintain accurate records of participant progress and outcomes.
- Complete weekly data entry into the data management database, participation in regular data review meetings, and preparation and submission of reports to the FCE Manager.
- Collaborate closely with community partners such as WIOA Career Centers, TCAT, Walters State Community College, and employers in high-demand sectors.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to stay informed on best practices and program updates.
- Represent the FCE program at community events and meetings to promote services and recruit participants.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Frequent travel to various locations within the service area.
- Some overnight, out of area travel to meetings as required.
- Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on vehicle.
- Complies with all rules, policies, and procedures of the Agency.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and Agency information.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field preferred.
- An associate’s degree, along with at least two years of relevant work experience, or those with a minimum of four years of equivalent experience, will also be considered.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Must complete EMPATH training within the specified timeframe.
- Minimum of one year of case management or related field preferred.
- Prefer applicants with lived experiences similar to target participants.

- Ability to learn economic mobility frameworks and evidence-based coaching models.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by low-income families and the resources available to support them.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and empower participants to achieve their goals.

- Proficiency in using data management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
