Elected Office / Department: HUMAN SERVICES
Primarily responsible for program and Department finance and accounting functions, including preparing and processing provider payroll; determining entitlement funding type; ensuring timely and accurate Department invoice payments; reconciling various data, generating reports, and applying reasonable checks and maintaining documentation and files as needed. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work is autonomous although occasionally confers with Supervisor. Must enforce statutory requirements and county policy.
Classification (level) and compensation is based on qualifications and experience as it relates to the position.
Finance Specialist I: Generally, the hiring range is $55,364-$69,205 annually.
Finance Specialist II: Generally, the hiring range is $62,092-$77,615 annually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not directly supervise other employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Finance Specialist I: Finance Specialist II: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge: Skills: Abilities: CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical professional office environment that is customer focused. Has regular, in-person interactions with coworkers and clients.
Physical Demands: This role is primarily sedentary with heavy computer use. Must be able to speak and hear and be understood. Must have close vision for computer work. Must be able to use a computer.
Material and Equipment Directly Used: Computer, phone, copy machine, and other typical office equipment

In the event of an emergency/disaster in or near the County, all County employees are expected to make every effort to be available to assist the County Manager, Elected/Appointed Officials and Department Directors to ensure the continued operation of any and all necessary County functions. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required.
