QC Scientist

General Summary and Responsibilities:

The QC Scientist is responsible for planning, conducting and analyzing QC processes and results. Commitment to excellence and high-quality results in your method and product development is expected. Beyond the bench, you work with a strong sense of urgency aligned with customer satisfaction and quality excellence.

Specific Duties:

· This role will provide quality control specifications to ensure process consistency, quality and optimal performance; will conduct measurements of raw materials and final product; and will ensure all processes and procedures follow regulations.

· Assist in design and development of new QC processes.

· Ensure GC-MS instrument and equipment are maintained for optimum performance and minimum downtime.

· Write technical procedures in accordance with validated analytical methods.

· Ability to complete tasks without close supervision and use mature judgment in test interpretation.

· Able to schedule activities to meet time requirements and move multiple projects forward simultaneously without compromising quality.

· Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with research and production.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Maintain a laboratory notebook and complete all documentation with clear, accurate language.

· Participates in internal laboratory audits and root cause analysis as needed.

Job Requirements:

· MS (or higher) degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related discipline.

· 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting using GC-MS required.

· Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Knowledge of solid phase extraction and other sample preparation techniques preferred.

· Hamilton Robotics operation/programming a plus.

· Follow lab safety and quality guidelines.

· Takes required safety and technical trainings. Maintains the qualifications for job function.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in a clinical and/or a laboratory environment. . Will be required to work with chemical and biological samples. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Must adhere to established safety practices as required. Non-shift work; 40 hours/week.

Personal Work Relationships and Environment:

Responsible to and supervised by Senior Vice President. Works directly with quality and manufacturing departments. This position requires employee to work primarily in laboratory setting, but will be required to be in manufacturing or office space as necessary to perform job duties listed above.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
