Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in medical documentation, x-ray procedures, and maintaining patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials following aseptic techniques
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring patient safety and compliance with infection control standards
- Record vital signs and medical history, including anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures
- Manage patient records accurately with softdent and dexis
- Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and managing medical records
- Assist with the operation of 3D scanners and other advanced dental imaging equipment
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding medical documentation and patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive pediatric dentistry services when required
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by state law
- Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively while adhering to safety protocols
- Strong understanding of dental specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of medical imaging technology including 3D scanners is a plus
