We are seeking an energetic and experienced administrative assistant/client care coordinator for a busy and fast-growing, multi-clinician, psychotherapy practice.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of highly responsible administrative, medical billing and patient-care experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Checking eligibility and benefits verification for treatments and procedures.
- Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information.
- Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
- Maintain and facilitate patient scheduling.
- General office management tasks including routing of phone calls to clinicians, sorting mail, keeping up office supplies and equipment
- Other duties deemed necessary by the office manager.
Requirements
- Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Must be available weeknights and Saturdays.
- A calm manner and patience working with either patients or insurers during this process.
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO and Medicare, and other payer requirements and systems.
- Effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers to resolve issues.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
