This position plays a crucial role in our billing department, managing patient information, submitting claims to insurance companies, and ensuring timely payment for medical services. The Billing Specialist also maintains the confidentiality of patient information and follows up with insurance providers on delays or nonpayment.

Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in our billing department, managing patient information, submitting claims to insurance companies, and ensuring timely payment for medical services. The Billing Specialist also maintains the confidentiality of patient information and follows up with insurance providers on delays or nonpayment.

Responsibilities
- Process payments from commercial, government, and other insurance payers for vision and medical insurances.
- Coordinate benefits between vision and medical payers.
- Manage denials and appeals.
- Update and communicate changes in fee schedules.
- Communicate with retail staff or patients about insurance benefits.
- Manage aging accounts.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical and/or vision billing.
- Proficiency in Medicaid and Medicare billing processes.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality.
