Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality orthodontic care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the orthodontist during procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
Duties:
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including preparing the treatment area and instruments
- Prepare and maintain patient records, including updating medical history and treatment plans
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments and answering phone calls
- Take digital scans using ITERO scanner
- Follow strict infection control protocols to maintain aseptic technique
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-treatment instructions
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment
Skills:
- Proficient in dental software systems such as Dolphin imaging
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and interpretation
- Ability to accurately maintain medical records
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification as an Orthodontic Assistant is preferred
- Previous experience working in a dental or orthodontic office is highly desirable
