Summary
The Extrusion Technician is responsible for supporting various production and manufacturing operations as assigned. This role exposes technicians to the Extrusion process quickly to develop the skills needed to assemble, maintain, and disassemble lines while having an established technical aptitude.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities: to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work on a team to assist and perform technical tasks to keep manufacturing lines running
- Develop and expand technical skill level
- Potential focus areas could include:
- Operating hand tools and power tools
- Operating extrusion/injection molding equipment, ovens, saws, grinders, etc.
- Product support: cutting, trimming, inspecting, cleaning, repairs & assembly
- Equipment maintenance - inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repairs & assembly
- Facility support - cleaning, repairs, painting, plumbing & construction trade support as needed
- Painting and coating
- Operating forklift, tractor, loading, and pulling trailer
- Follow all safety and company policies/guidelines (including tobacco free facilities)
Required Skills/Experience/Education:
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a technical role preferably in a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Honest and hardworking
- Mechanical aptitude and safety awareness
- Self-motivated with ability and desire to learn new skills
- Career minded individual who can grow in a stable work environment
Work Environment/Schedule:
The Technician position primarily works within climate controlled industrial buildings but is required to work on some outdoor projects. Will spend most of the day on your feet and working with your hands. The standard work schedule is 12-hour shifts, averaging 42 hours a week, with every other long weekend and holiday off. Day and night shifts are rotated every 3 months.
