Position: Lifeguard/Pool Attendant
Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Front Office
Reports to: Rooms Division Manager/Assistant Front Office Manager
Area of supervision: None
Purpose:
Pool attendant is to be guest service oriented and address and anticipate guest’s needs. They will be responsible for the daily set up and breakdown of the pool towels and chairs, as well as, maintaining the pool deck throughout the day. In charge of regulating the guest list and ensuring the host stand is being monitored.
- Guest service experience required.
- Flexible schedule. Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Must be able to move and/or lift objects 25 lbs. or less. As well as, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Liaison to Guest Services team with communicating guest needs from the pool, selling pool retail (bathing suits and sunscreen, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of iPad technology used for seating and queuing guests
- Customer service skills to manage groups and waiting guests, comfortable reinforcing pool and guest procedures
- Basic F&B knowledge, can speak intelligently on the pool menu
- Be organized, detail oriented and able to multi task
- Communication skills with other lifeguards, able to delegate tasks and stay in constant communication via radio with management
- Constant surveillance of patrons
- Ensures cleanliness, safety and upkeep of swimming pool – pool and deck should always be most presentable
- Caution guests on unruly behavior and contact Security as needed
- Positive, upbeat and approachable attitude Lifeguard certification required.
