QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of purchasing experience in a food manufacturing setting
- Direct experience related to Procurement and Supply Chain Management
- Strong coordination and multi-tasking skills required
- Professional corporate/interpersonal communication skills required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares purchase orders for inventory and non-inventory items by verifying product specifications, prices, MOQ’s and lead times with vendors, ensures proper receipt and payment of purchase orders and coordinates the proper validation of new suppliers
- Ensures the proper inventory stock levels of ingredients, packaging, work-in-process inventory and finished goods based on monthly planning forecasts from the Production Manager
- Identifies and implements opportunities for Procurement improvements by researching product substitutes, verifying product usage and efficacy with R&D and QA and negotiating favorable product supply, payment terms and pricing with new vendors.
- Ensures back-up vendors are in place for raw materials and packaging materials.
