Job Purpose Statement:
- Reading and interpreting blue prints and product specifications
- Performing Flat Pattern Layouts
- Using Hand Tools and measuring devices to perform basic tasks
- Using power tools, lathes, mills and welding equipment to perform complex tasks
- Working within teams or independently as directed
- Problem Solving process issues including redesign of equipment
Repairing process equipment including pumps, gear reducers, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, blowers, and conveyors. - Supporting established Preventative Maintenance activities and identify new PM activities, as needed.
- Supporting continuous process improvement implementation and origination.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications
- Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, lathe, mill and welding / fabrication equipment
- Must be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematics
- 3 – 5 years experience specializing in fabrication and / or welding (MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes, cutting torch, plasma cutting, etc.)
- Welding certification preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Good math and analytical skills
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Must speak, read and write English
Work Environment:
In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.
The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens.
The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $33.98 and $35.06.
