What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at DuBois Furniture?
DuBois Furniture is a 60 year-old, third generation, family-owned business. We are looking to hire a key member of our team to assist in managing the financial information, payables, payroll, and inventory information for our company. The ideal candidate should have at least 5-10 years bookkeeping/accounting experience, including payroll experience. Must be able to work in a team environment and represent DuBois Furniture positively in both customer and vendor interactions. This position reports to the CFO and is a salaried position. Benefits are available.
Starting salary: $50,000 - $60,000/year, dependent on experience
Hours: Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with a set day off during the week
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Managing all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business operations
- Managing payroll including deductions, taxes, and regulatory reporting
- Managing Accounts Payable
- Overseeing inventory, accounting, and receiving
- Managing third-party financing options
- Preparing internal financial statements for management
- Coordinating with outside professionals for banking and accounting purposes
- Providing management with information vital to our decision-making process
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Assisting in office functions as needed, including greeting customers, helping with phone traffic, accepting payments, and aiding office staff
Bachelor's degree or equivalent bookkeeping/accounting training preferred
