Title: Assistant Principal - MiddleSchools Classification: AdministratorReports to: Middle School PrincipalEssential functions: The assistant principal shall be an educational leader and manager of the school and shall supervise the operation and management of the school and school property, subject to the supervision and direction of the principal. (See M.G.L. c. 71, 598.) The assistant principal shall perform faithfully, diligently and competently the duties of a public-school assistant principal.
The assistant principal hereby agrees to perform his/her duties in accordance with the policies of the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District, provided that except as required by law no amendment to such policies subsequent to signing of this contract shall impair the district's contractual obligations hereunder. Qualifications: Master's degree or higher, appropriate licensure, Massachusetts Dept. of Education.Responsibilities: At his/her assigned school and in accordance with the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws and applicable regulations, the administrator's duties shall include: Administer curriculum and instruction of the students enrolled in his/her school.Advise and assist the principal in recruiting and appointing regarding the following: Teaching Staff and ParaprofessionalsOther Professional StaffAll Non-Professional StaffScheduling - Master ScheduleOther resource and service personnel; while functioning in the assigned school.Assist the principal as to supervision and oversight, in accordance with their right to due process, all of the above staff while they areemployed at the assigned school in the following areas: DisciplineAssignmentPromotionEvaluationSuspensionDemotionTerminationAssist in the supervision and operational management of school personnel, facilities and property.Manage, operate and evaluate educational programs and services.Provide for the implementation and observance, by the school's staff and students, of all school committee policies and regulations.
