As the Plant Operator you will be responsible for overseeing setup, take down, production and maintenance of asphalt plant. This position also oversees the Plant Oiler.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operates asphalt plant to production schedule using appropriate materials to achieve specified mix quality.
• Works with truck drivers delivering and picking up materials and mix at the plant.
• Performs daily inspections of plant for safety, maintenance, and repair needs.
• Works closely with Plant Oiler and other crew members to maintain plant by performing service and repairs as necessary.
• Reports service and repair needs to shop as necessary.
• Works closely with QM/QC to achieve required mix quality for projects.
• Keeps equipment clean and prepares plant for move when needed.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
• Follows supervisor’s instructions closely.

• Strong communication skills and an ability to work with variety of people and positions. 
• An unwavering focus on safety.
• Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Eastern Dakotas.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly work extended | overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
• Travel is required.
