The DuPont Country Club is currently looking for a full-time Catering Sales Manager – Weddings to join our team and focus on providing the highest quality of service for our members and guests. This position is responsible for increasing the club’s revenues in the wedding business. This position will work closely with other sales staff and the management team to maximize revenues and ensure the company’s success and profitability. This position will be heavily focused on prospecting for new business by cold calling or in-person meetings, with on-site touring and meeting responsibilities.
  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new wedding business through different sales approaches, including sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.
  • Work with the Venue Managers, Food & Beverage Manager and General Manager to develop and execute innovative sales strategies, annually and monthly
  • Maintain contact with previous clients and request for referral and recommendation for new wedding events
  • Achieve or exceed individual revenue goals; both food/beverage and guest room revenues
  • Monitor customer preferences and trend in the wedding industry in order to develop effective sales strategy
  • Acquire and maintain a solid base of accounts and achieve the company’s sales goals and budget
  • Provide walking tours to potential clients of the property’s wedding and banquet facilities
  • Provide adequate information to the operation team regarding the needs of specific accounts

The successful candidate will have/be:
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven track record for meeting sales goals
  • Strong knowledge of current food and industry trends
  • A minimum of two years of experience in hospitality industry including one year experience in catering sales
  • Previous wedding or catering sales experience preferred
  • Ability to assess client requirements and deliver ensuring client satisfaction
  • Must be able to write menu proposals in consultation with chefs
  • Superior quantitative, oral and written communications and problem-solving/strategizing skills
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, flexible and adaptable to constant changes and must possess attention to detail
  • Excellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proactive mindset and able to remain calm under pressure to anticipate and support changes in our business.
  • Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
  • Exceptional client relations and customer service abilities
This position will have flexible hours and will may require work on weekends, holidays or evenings.
