JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Foreman
Reports to: General Superintendent
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Foreman will be responsible for directly supervising and leading specialized labor crews that perform the necessary work for their assigned project(s). This position is also responsible for the consistent and proactive management of employees, equipment, safety, quality control, scheduling, planning, production and cost control from start-up to completion/closeout.

The Take Charge FOREMAN:
Do work right the first time - QUALITY
- Performs quality control duties, creates punch lists, makes timely corrections to the work, and holds team members accountable for doing the work correctly the first time and in compliance with all contract terms and conditions
- Ensures that all materials used are in accordance with approved submittals and other project documents
- Coordinates and schedules all required inspections and testing with appropriate parties
- Maintains an organized and up to date set of all project documents (specifications, contract(s), drawings, revisions, submittals, RFI’s, etc.); Communicates with project team regarding project documentation
- Maintains daily logs and record/as-built drawings of all activities on the jobsite
- Identifies, documents, and enforces subcontractor compliance with safety, quality, and on-time completion
Proactively schedules project(s) and plans work items to ensure ON-TIME completion
- Thoroughly understands contracted scope of work
- Attends and conducts pre-construction, progress, scheduling and project/staff meetings
- Supervises crew and labor force to ensure successful completion of all assigned duties
- Ensures that projects are properly staffed for on-time completion
- Manages job progress, schedules, and punch list items to achieve on-time or early project completion
- Identifies conflicts/issues within construction documents and progress and communicates them to project team for timely resolution
Make budget if not GAIN on each project - PRODUCTION
- Achieves profit goals set for work items, specifically out-performing labor and equipment productions and budgets
- Attends and conducts weekly GAMEPLAN meeting along with preparation and/or insight into GAMEPLAN schedule
- Coordinates, communicates and proactively engages with project management; reviewing work plans, progress, production, reports, etc. to identify issues and opportunities
- Communicates status of project profitability, costs, quantities, and gain/fade with project team
- Proactively evaluates project/work item means, methods and productions and makes timely adjustments for betterment
Complies with all SAFETY requirements, including Durr, OSHA and other applicable safety standards
- Thoroughly understands all safety requirements and always holds self and all team members accountable for the adherence and enforcement of safety
- Conducts weekly safety meetings onsite with entire project team, daily huddles and daily task hazard analysis
Provides training, education, advice and mentoring to other team members
- Actively engaged and present on all assigned projects to monitor all activities and assist in future planning
- Consistently and accurately evaluates crew and team members, gives praise and ensures all are held properly responsible and accountable
- Monitors and enforces all company policies as necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of heavy construction, including but not limited to demolition, earthwork, utilities, and concrete paving and associated heavy equipment used during execution of work
- Familiarity with requirements and interpretation of drawings, specifications, purchase orders, submittals and other construction related documentation
- Have an understanding of quantity take-offs, production rates, crew types/sizes, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong management and leadership skills to hold others responsible and accountable
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities
- Delegates work appropriately, and follows through to verify completion of tasks
- Strong and proactive decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Endurance and ability to visit entire job site(s), including stairs or other elevated structures

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum 5yrs experience in Construction Industry, heavy construction preferred, with a demonstrated understanding of construction methods and work site management.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
