Security Guard
Full Time
Compensation commensurate upon experience: $20-$25/hour
Position Overview
Dwight School, an innovative preschool-grade 12 coeducational school on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, is currently seeking a Security Guard.
S-95 Fireguard License required for this position. Only applications for candidates who already hold this certification will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol and monitor hallways, stairwells, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility
- Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assist students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations
- Assist with supervision of morning arrival and afternoon dismissal of students
- Assist the professional staff, police, and emergency personnel in handling emergencies or disruptive situations
- Ensure all employees wear identification badges
- Conduct proper COVID procedures including check-in, temperature checks, etc., daily at all locations
- Monitor all deliveries of packages and unauthorized visitors
- Deliver Packages upon request
- Must be flexible to work at different campuses, when needed, located on the Upper East and Upper West Sides
- Report any discipline infractions, unauthorized visitors, and acts of vandalism to the Director of Facilities
- Display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by their supervisor, and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid 8 Hour and 16 Hour Security Training
- S-95 Fireguard License required
