Role Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Vice President of Construction to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of solar energy projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position demands strong leadership in construction operations and implementing strategies to support the company’s development pipeline while managing safety, risk, and key stakeholder relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise projects from initial planning through completion, ensuring smooth execution
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently to meet project goals
• Maintain high-quality standards and ensure client satisfaction
• Assess and address potential project risks
• Lead project teams, offering mentorship and support to managers and staff
• Develop and execute construction strategies for solar and storage initiatives
• Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, codes, and industry standards
• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders
• Represent the company in discussions, negotiations, and industry engagements
• Manage client expectations and proactively resolve challenges
• Uphold strict safety standards on-site, ensuring full compliance with safety regulations
• Enforce quality control measures to maintain project excellence
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Oversee budget planning, cost estimates, and financial performance reviews
• Track expenditures, project timelines, and financial performance
• Identify and mitigate financial risks while optimizing opportunities

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in solar and energy storage field operations
• Deep understanding of solar construction techniques, building regulations, permitting procedures, and project management best practices
• Experience overseeing pre-construction and construction teams and workflows
• Strong financial oversight and analytical capabilities
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation abilities
• Comprehensive expertise in solar construction and industry trends
• Skilled at analyzing and resolving complex challenges
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on organization and process efficiency
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, industry guidelines, and regulatory requirements preferred
• Expertise in civil and electrical systems, utility interconnection, and evolving policies affecting decentralized solar preferred
• Hands-on experience with community solar, battery storage, and VPPs preferred
• Proactive and highly organized
• Able to excel in a dynamic, fast-growing environments
