We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Lead EC Payroll Consultant to configure, support, and lead the delivery of SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) implementation or SAP HCM Payroll implementation. The ideal candidate will combine technical and functional expertise with strong client-facing and leadership skills, ensuring efficient, scalable, and compliant payroll implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and deliver SAP Payroll solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Support payroll processes, including gross-to-net calculations, tax reporting, third-party remittances, garnishments, and year-end activities.
- Troubleshoot payroll issues and execute parallel payroll testing with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct requirement-gathering workshops for new customers during the discovery phase, translating requirements into actionable configurations and designs.
- Collaborate with multiple payroll delivery centers globally, ensuring consistent alignment with business processes and standards.
- Work with multiple clients simultaneously, delivering high-quality solutions in a high-performance culture.
- Provide technical expertise for integration with SAP FI, Compensation, Time Management, Benefits, and third-party systems.
- Monitor system performance, apply updates, and implement support packs.
- Develop and implement custom operations, rules, and user exits as needed.
- Maintain payroll catalogs, including wage type configurations, off-cycle payroll processing, and levy management.
- Proactively solve problems, proposing solutions quickly to meet dynamic business needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in configuring SAP Payroll solutions (EC Payroll or HCM Payroll).
- Strong expertise in US Payroll, including process and configuration knowledge.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver implementation and production support for payroll systems.
- Experience in:
- Payroll catalog setup (e.g., collective bargaining agreements, wage type definition).
- Off-cycle payroll processing and levy management.
- Garnishment management and reporting.
- Tax reporter configuration and integration with BSI Tax Factory.
- Custom operations, rules, and user exits.
- Demonstrated success in 4 full life cycle implementations of SAP Payroll.
- Strong client-facing and engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Payroll Control Center (PCC), and automation tools.
- Familiarity with process optimization strategies.
- Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience executing parallel payroll testing.
- SAP EC Payroll experience is a plus, but SAP HCM Payroll is fine as well.
