The Fire Alarm Technician tests, repairs, and inspects fire detection systems. He or she must provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis
- Completes all services following manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures
- Schedules inspections with customers as required
- Provides documentation of inspections for Company records, customer records, authorities with jurisdiction, and any other entity required
- Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and other important issues to the Company and the customer
- Follows up to ensure that suggested repairs to systems are performed
- EFI Markets services to existing and potential customers
- Trains Technician Trainees as assigned
- Commits to work until obligations are met, which may result in overtime
- Completes continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for position
- Adheres to ALL Company Standards and Procedures, including the Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard
- NICET Level III or IV Fire Alarm Systems certification
- EST3 or EST4 certification
- Advanced programming capabilities in fire alarm systems
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with fire alarm systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (NFPA 72, local jurisdiction codes)
- Expert-level proficiency in system programming, troubleshooting, and advanced diagnostics
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
