Job Description: Eagle Vision One is seeking a dedicated and friendly Optometric Assistant to join our team. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our optometrists and ensuring our patients receive exceptional care. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting optometrists with preliminary tests and examinations.
- Preparing patients for their eye exams by taking medical histories and conducting initial screenings.
- Performing diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, color perception, depth perception, and peripheral vision tests.
- Instructing patients on how to insert, remove, and care for contact lenses.
- Maintaining and sanitizing equipment and instruments.
- Managing patient records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Learning about insurances and ability to provide accurate quotes.
- Providing excellent customer service to patients by addressing their inquiries and concerns.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in optometry, is advantageous but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records (EHRs).
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week, M-F, 8 hour shifts between window of 7:45am -5:15pm
- Punctuality and Reliability are required.
