School Age Teacher

School Age Academy seeking teachers to work with students in implementing school age curriculum including homework assistance and tutoring.

We are looking for dedicated, passionate people who are willing to share their time and talents with children in our community. We are searching for teachers who have experience leading groups of kids and while supporting company vision and mission. Encouraging and giving kids a chance to develop and exhibit character, to build relationships with positive adults and other students, to feel safe and to learn new skills which lead to a sense of achievement.

We are looking for individuals who are smart, caring, hard-working, enthusiastic, and responsible- and most critically, are experienced in working with young children. Opportunity to work full or part time hours.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with children ages 5-12 years old in formal group setting
• Lead a group of 12-18 students in before and after school programming including implementation of a weekly theme based curriculum
• Coordinate and Implement 10 week summer camp program
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Characterize a positive role model to students and staff in your attitude and behavior
• Help children learn to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and to respect themselves and others.
• Perform Other duties as assigned by Director or management staff
• Maintain a stimulating and responsive classroom environment

Experience and Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old; high school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
• At least one year of experience working with school age children in a formal setting or camp experience required
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Medical and criminal background check required
