EASE Education, an after-school enrichment organization is offering various programs and looking to hire a STEM & Robotics Instructor as an independent contractor for Fall 2022 classes (and beyond) across the Bay Area Peninsula Schools, Parks, and Recreation Center located at Menlo Park, Burlingame, Belmont, San Carlos, and Redwood City.

STEM & Robotics Instructors for after-school programs are responsible for planning and leading structured STEM activities for students in grades 3-8.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Successfully lead after-school activities with groups of up to 10 students for grades 3-8.
  • Assist to develop curriculum and submit written lesson plans in a timely manner
  • Handle inquiries from parents regarding the curriculum and lesson plan
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and robotics equipment
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
  • MUST be available, on-time, and prepared to work during assigned hours, for three hours a day, between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM (Exact hours vary depending upon location).
  • Availability to work on site at schools for classes based on assigned schedule
  • Expected to check in and be on campus by 15 minutes prior - please allow time for transport and any unforeseen delays
  • Fingerprint clearance and Background check is required
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination documentation is mandatory

Qualifications and Skills

  • Teaching and academic experience with computer science, robotics or a related STEM field and a passion
  • At least 1 year of prior experience teaching or facilitating group activities with students

Benefits

  • Pay is $45-50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Monday to Friday: must be available from 2.30 to 5.30pm
