What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Care Attendant position at EASEL Animal Rescue League?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate person with strong passion for animal welfare to join our team. The Animal Care Attendant is an important member of the shelter staff in maintaining the health and well-being of the animals at the shelter.
Responsibilities:
- Cat cage cleaning and disinfecting
- Dog run cleaning and disinfecting
- Sanitize dog runs and cat cages in accordance with shelter standards and state regulations
- Follow EASEL cleaning rubric
- General facility cleaning and organizing, including mopping floors
- Laundry; sorting, washing, drying, folding and placement
- Feed the animals, on time and as directed, follow diet and portion instructions, without exception
- Understanding of animal physiology to recognize signs of distress or illness
- Familiarity with kennel operations and maintenance procedures
- Refer members of the community to staff for assistance
- Background in veterinary critical care is a plus but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with animals and co-workers
- Work well independently and as part of a team to perform responsibilities listed
- Other tasks asked by immediate supervisor
- Check with Manager on duty for additional tasks if cage/run cleaning is completed prior to the end of a shift
- Cleaning and storage of dirty carriers and traps
Must be able to lift, move, or carry animals or objects weighing up to 40 lbs., move up to 120 lbs., and following OSHA Guidelines while using strong chemicals for disinfecting kennels
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour

- Evenings as needed
