- POSITION SUMMARY
- The Certified Respiratory Therapist is an entry-level practice therapist, with basic assessment and therapeutic skills in multiple patient populations, areas, or age groups. The Respiratory Therapist is expected to routinely perform and interact as a professional. The Certified Respiratory Therapist can handle most circumstances that may arise pertaining to respiratory care with occasional supervision. Administers basic respiratory care therapeutics and diagnostic services with skill and proficiency. Integrates knowledge, skills and experience to promote optimum care for the patient.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
- Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy Program or Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy Grandfathered into CRT program by NBRC.
Minimum Experience- Recent clinical respiratory care experience (hospital, home care, skilled nursing facility) and/or previous respiratory care practice.
Required Registration/License/Certification- Successful completion of entry level exam for Respiratory Therapist.
- Prefer someone who is eligible to sit for the NBRC advanced practitioner exam for RRT.
- Must have current Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy license and CRT.
- ACLS, PALS, and RRT must be obtained within 12 months of DOH or transfer, BLS within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Education- Graduate of Respiratory Therapy Program
Preferred Experience- 1-year hospital experience.
Preferred Registration/License/Certification- RRT eligible
