What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at East Bay Community Action Program?
East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a Financial Analyst at 19 Broadway Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial data collection and reporting needs, creating and sending contract invoices, preparing journal entries, and providing various types of analysis and support. This position will also be responsible for working with Program Managers to help them with budget review and maintenance, especially monitoring actual vs budget variances.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership, Program Directors/Managers to assist in preparation of grant budgets based on information provided by Program Directors/Managers.
- Assist with various state, federal, and funding source audits/fiscal reviews, by providing accurate documentation in a timely manner.
- Contribute statistical and financial data in a timely manner that will support decision making, which could involve developing new Dashboards and other reports in Sage Intacct
- Provides support during the annual budget process, including meetings with program managers, financial projections, and gathering detailed information that will also have to be presented in summarized formats
Knowledge of and Proficient in:
- Budgeting, forecasting, accounting applications and financial analysis/reporting in non-profit or government environment preferred.
- Accounting theory, concepts and practices applicable to accounting requirements relative to a non-profit setting.
- Generally accepted accounting practices.
- Proficiency in computer applications, especially in Excel, intermediate level in other Microsoft products
Minimum Required Education:
A Bachelors Degree or the equivalent in Accounting, finance, or other related business discipline with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial analyst or senior accountant position, preferably in a non-profit setting. Knowledge of OMB 2 CFR Part 200-Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, grant reporting and Audit Requirements for federal Awards
