Position Summary :
Under the direction of the Vice President of Health Center Operations and with the contributions of departmental clinical leadership, the Director of Nursing will guide nursing through a period of exciting growth and beyond. He / She will explore opportunities for improvement in the quality of nursing care, productivity of nurses, efficiency of workflows, and utilization of staffing models.
The Director will assess the professional needs of the nursing and medical assistant staff and plans and implements high-quality programs based on those assessments. The Director conducts surveys of the nursing and medical assistant staff and incorporates the findings in the assessment and workflow development.
Recognized as the organization’s internal expert, consultant, facilitator, and lead researcher supporting nursing and medical assistants, the Director fosters empowerment based on knowledge to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidenced-based nursing practice.
Responsibilities :
- Work collaboratively with nursing leaders and co-leadership team to ensure staff nurses and medical assistants have the knowledge and skills needed to support the organization's clinical redesign efforts.
- Oversee and facilitate the Nursing Practice Council.
- Audit to maintain standards and scope of nursing practice; provide direction and support to staff to ensure practice efficiency.
- Direct the development and implementation of high-quality, sustainable educational programs for nurses and medical assistants that align with EBNHC’s strategic initiatives, National Patient Safety Goals, and Joint Commission standards.
- Assist with Navigation Center development of nursing roles and competencies.
- May participate in clinical care 10% of his / her time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8am to 12 pm, 1pm to 5 pm
