Job Description
The Rail Crew Supervisor is responsible for the safety and efficiency of the switching crews. This position will maintain and enforce company rules and policies in conjunction with quality, productivity and safety while adhering to AAR and FRA standards.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supervise switch crews
- Ensure compliance with company, AAR, FRA policies and procedures
- Communicate with crews regarding work assignments
- Complete reports and communicate with management
- Other terminal job functions may be required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good organizational & communication skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Locomotive Engineer / Conductor Certification
- General knowledge of railroad operations is a plus.
- Ability to delegate/prioritize & complete assigned duties
REQUIRED
- Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office programs)
- Must have better than high school education or equal work experience
- Must have worked continuously in the last 6 months
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to pass background check
- Ability to work off shift and weekends a must.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Rail Crew Supervisor will be working in the rail yard in all- weather situations. Continuous bending, climbing, walking, twisting and kneeling will be required to perform the job.
