What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist position at East Central Ohio ESC?
The East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a qualified Intervention Specialist to work with students enrolled in Alternative Education programs in Belmont County. Individual will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating learning experiences for students requiring an alternative to traditional educational programs.Duties include, but are not limited to the following: 1) Prepares the assigned classroom and requisitions supplies/equipment as needed2) Teaches scheduled classes, documents performance objectives and creates effective learning experiences3) Develops written lesson plans and ensures that teaching materials, class lists, and classroom procedures are readily available for substitutes4) mplements effective pupil management procedures and maintains a high code of conduct5) Develops and maintains a positive learning environment to stimulate student interest; works with parents and staff to understand academic and behavioral objectives6) Evaluates the needs of students based on all information available; varies teaching techniques to address individual learning styles7) Proctors standardized and alternative tests as directed8) Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time9) Evaluates student achievement/performance and assigns grades; prepares progress reports and consults with parents as needed10) Watches for problem situations and works with sueprvisors and other staff to eliminate unacceptable conditions and/or behaviors11) Makes referrals for student assistance/intervention when a need is indicated; meets mandated deadlines for required paperwork12) Supervises non-classroom activities (i.e., fieldtrips, student training experiences, etc.)13) Participates in staff meetings, professional development, conferences and other required program activities as required
