Job Description
Position Summary:
Cut various metals to appropriate length/size safely using a metal saw/plasma table/laser/waterjet
Essential Functions:
Description
- Ability to read material lists properly to ensure appropriate materials allocated to appropriate jobs.
- Ability to locate and retrieve proper materials per material sheets using overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.
- Proper set up and operation of all saws/plasma table/laser/waterjet
- Follow quality standards to keep reduction of scrap and rework to a minimum.
- Be able to cut an acceptable quantity of material per hour.
- Secures blocks in clamps of automatic feed saw, preset to specified length
- Must be able to stand on feet for multiple hours
- Have basic math skills (addition, subtraction and fractions, measurements)
- Safely operate overhead cranes and hoists
- Team player willing to help others in the department as necessary.
Qualifications, Education, Knowledge, Training, Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Proficient with Shop Math including but not limited to general addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements.
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate cranes, hoists, lifts, etc.

Physical Demands and Environment:
- Constant exposure to a manufacturing setting.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in order to operate machines efficiently.
- Must be able to withstand loud noises, extreme heat, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the dexterity to handle various objects necessary to complete the essential functions.
