BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as an Accounting Adviser at our Headquarters in Glen Allen, VA or at our White Oaks General Office Building in Bridgeport, WV.
- This role serves as a technical accounting expert and monitors corporate accounting and reporting issues, evaluates implications of developments and advises senior management.
- Serves as a leader in responsible for the corporate accounting function, including leading and developing a team of individual contributors.
- Seeks out an implements process improvements related to the new ERP system and other accounting systems.
- Regular communication with senior management and routinely interacts with internal and external customers.
- Provides leadership including functional advice and training. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
8 years of general accounting experience, or 7 years of public accounting experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices, and procedures.
Excellent computer skills, including Excel.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to handle concurrent projects effectively, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work consistently.
Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
Excellent ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Education
Master (Typically two years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a master's degree.)

Accounting, Business, or Finance
Preferred Licenses, Certifications, Qualifications or Standards
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
