As an EKG Technician you will be responsible for obtaining electrocardiograms used to diagnose abnormalities of the heart by attaching electrodes and operating electrocardiographic equipment. In this role:
- You will appropriately prepare patient for Cardiac Stress test to ensure proper test results and clearly explaining test procedures.
- You will follow established surveillance, prevention, and control of infection policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection by use of personal protective measures.
- You will always ensure that equipment is clean and in proper working condition. If equipment malfunctions are identified, the director is notified immediately.
- You will accurately obtain a resting 12 lead electrocardiogram by properly prepping and placing lead electrodes to patient’s limbs and chest.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- Incumbent may receive EKG training on the job – experience preferred.
- EKG Rhythm interpretation preferred
