About Our Program

Easterseals, a national nonprofit, has supported individuals with disabilities for over 50 years. Its residential and day habilitation services for intellectual and developmental disabilities provides daily living support and community-based programs that teaches individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities valuable life skills through instruction and real world experiences.

What You’ll Do

The Direct Support Professional provides high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by fostering strong relationships in the residential group home and community settings.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) including but not limited to, feeding, toileting, assistance with hygiene, monitoring and/or administering medications and all areas of adult daily living skills.
• Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for daily living, transportation, medication and more.
• Transports consumers within the community using the company van.
• Deliver high-quality services in community, residential, and facility settings.
• Build strong relationships with consumers and external stakeholders.
  
  

Who You Are

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience: At least 6 months of previous experience in direct care or related field preferred.
• Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license & clean driving record.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
