Job Summary:
Easton Music Academy is seeking a caring, creative, and energetic Preschool Music Teacher to lead music classes for young children ages 0-4. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule, with classes held one morning per week and flexible evening and weekend sessions. While no formal musical training is required, the ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a love for music and early childhood education. We provide a ready-made curriculum, and the teacher will be responsible for light lesson planning to adapt the classes to the needs and energy of the group. We will train you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging and interactive music classes for preschool children, ages 0-4, focusing on building early musical skills through play, song, movement, and rhythm activities.
- Use the provided curriculum as a foundation and do light lesson planning to tailor activities and materials to the needs of each class.
- Creat a positive and welcoming classroom environment where children feel comfortable and encouraged to explore music.
- Engage with parents and caregivers in a friendly, professional manner, offering insights into their child's musical development.
- Foster a fun, safe, and inclusive atmosphere for children to develop social and emotional skills through music and group activities.
- Maintain flexibility during class to adapt to the children's needs and energy levels.
- Participate in periodic staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood music education.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with young children, especially ages 0-4.
- Passion for music and a willingness to use music as a tool for early childhood development.
- Friendly, patient, and energetic personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- CPR certification is a plus, but not required.
Schedule & Flexibility:
This position offers flexible hours, with classes one weekday morning, a few evenings and weekends. We are happy to work with the right candidate to establish a schedule that suits their availability.
