About Us:
We are dedicated to empowering at-risk students in grades K-8 by offering them a nurturing environment that fosters academic success, creativity, and personal growth. Our After School Action Program (ASAP) is designed to provide homework help, tutoring, engaging activities, and nutritious meals to students who need it the most.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with homework assignments, offering guidance and support in various subjects.
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to reinforce learning concepts.
- Engage students in creative and fun activities that encourage exploration and self-expression.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where students feel valued and motivated to learn.
- Collaborate with fellow assistants to plan and execute engaging educational and recreational activities.
- Help prepare and serve daily nutritious meals to ensure students are well-nourished.
- Communicate with parents, guardians, and teachers to track progress and address concerns.
- Be a positive role model and mentor, inspiring students to set and achieve their goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
- Passion for working with at-risk youth and contributing to their educational journey.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for designing engaging activities.
- Prior experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working with youth is a plus.
