Eastway Behavioral Healthcare is the largest, private, not-for-profit provider of mental health, substance abuse, housing, residential, employment and educational services in the Miami Valley. Currently hiring a Full-time housing specialist on our HOPE Housing Team!
The Housing Support Specialist incorporates inspecting housing units to meet HQS, which ensure the safety and sanitation of rental units and provides housing support for the day-to-day operations of the Pathways Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure housing is procured in timely fashion, with an appropriate match between consumer and housing amenities and locale.
- Assist clients with maintaining housing by computing financial arrangements.
- Ensure consumer is moved into home by completing admission paperwork, verifying income and acquiring other documentation as needed.
- Complete income verification submission on a regular basis.
- Maintain and improve working relationships with other agencies, community mental health centers and within the Pathways program by promptly addressing concerns and complaints.
- Advocate for consumers by developing and maintaining a positive public relations attitude and practice with housing providers.
- Encourage participant engagement with service providers, including, but not limited to, mental health staff, therapists, medical staff, employment specialists, etc.
- Serve as liaison between client and landlord in the absence of Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST).
- Serve as back-up provider in the absence of CPST services, including, but not limited to, conducting home visits, making and returning phone calls, preparing mailings, advocacy, etc.
- Educate landlords on the Pathways PSH program and compile a database of landlords willing to partner with the Pathways PSH program.
- Conduct HQS inspections of units allocated for rental.
- Document and communicate HQS non-compliance to landlords to ensure efficient unit repairs in preparation of habitation.
- Coordinate the furnishing of units in timely fashion
Qualifications
Associates Degree or higher, preferably in Mental Health or a related field
Valid Ohio Driver’s License; and car insurance
Knowledge and experience in Windows-based computer applications
Pay Starting $17.00-18.00 an hour
