What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Emergency Department Physician-Eaton Rapids position at EATON RAPIDS MEDICAL CENTER?

Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment using individualized, age specific, evidence based, professional care. Follows scope of practice and approved medical staff clinical privileges for specialty of practice.

Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.

Provide follow-up care of patients, refer them to other providers, and interpret diagnostic test results.

Communicate in a way the patient and/or family will understand to: Answer and advise on any other questions or concerns the patient and/or family might have. Educate and inform patient/family of necessary treatment plan and any necessary follow-up appointments.

Collaborate with physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other health professionals.

Completes all medical record documentation appropriately and timely after each patient encounter.

Assists with clinical chart review to ensure policies and evidence based practice standards are being followed.

Uses information technology resources to support patient care decisions and patient education. Practices cost-effective health care and resources allocation that does not compromise quality of care. Applies medical information and clinical data systems to provide more effective, efficient patient care.

Is a mentor to all staff and portrays a professional role model. Manages up coworkers and leaders.

Follows relevant local, state and federal laws and judicial decisions applicable to the conduct of professional obligations.
