What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Eaton?
Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles; CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Receiving Clerk (Material Handler A). The LA facility has approximately 250 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Material Handler A reports to the Logistics & Materials Supervisor. This position is responsible for receiving incoming freight, performs receipt transactions within the MFG/Pro QAD software system, and reports discrepant shipments via Cargo Claims process. The Material Handler A contributes to a work team environment and demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Promotes teamwork & partnership and performs daily functions within the company safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Supports the focus of zero defects as well as right-the-first-time attitude. Works with Logistics & Materials Supervisor to ensure implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed these requirements as well as customer expectations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to read and write in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in receiving and inventory control in a Manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience using Microsoft Office programs, Excel, and Word, etc.
- Relocation is not offered for this role. Candidates must reside within a 50mile radius of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039) to be considered.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in material handling and receiving in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift Certified
- DOT/IATA Certified
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a receiving clerk.
- Minimum 2 year’ experience using ERP/MRP system.
- Some Aerospace experience preferred.
