What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Eaton?
Eaton’s Aerospace Fluid Motion and Control Systems Division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team. This position is based at our Grand Rapids, MI location.
Position Overview
Reports to the Quality Supervisor. Offers inspection support for both Receiving and Final inspection, including month end shipments as needed. Inspects product by means of manual layout, caliper and micrometer checks, plug and pin gage inspection, etc. with proficiency. Performs tasks using Windows based software such as Excel and Word. Evaluates product compliancy through proper understanding of blueprints and GD&T.
In this function you will:
- Provides inspection support for both Receiving and Final Inspection
- Inspects product per blueprint requirements in accordance with the current quality procedures
- Evaluates product compliancy through a thorough understanding of industry specifications, blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Prepares and completes First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 requirements.
- Conduct Assembly Floor Layer Process Audits as well as 5S audits to ensure a safe and productive working environment focused on producing quality product.
- Support as needed to meet our customer demands at month end.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an Accredited Institution
- Experience with software packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, and Power Point etc.)
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
